My name is Mrs. Ortiz. I was born in NYC to Dominican parents. At the age of 6, I had an amazing 1st grade teacher that inspired me to be like her. I taught in NYC for 7 years and this is my 4th year here in CF- so in total, this is my 11th year teaching! Last year I was in the classroom part time because I went back to school, to the Principal Residency Network to be exact, and graduated and am now certified as a school Administrator (so I could be a Principal/Assistant Principal...)
My greatest passion in general is my family. I have been married to my wonderful husband for 12 1/2 years. We have an 11 year old daughter named Gabriela and a 6 year old son named Nicholas. As a family, we enjoy watching movies and playing board and video games together.
My personal thing to do when I can get some free time is to READ.
My greatest passion in the education field is Bilingual Education. I am a living example that being bilingual will open many doors for you in the future. This is why I love Dual Language classes. 
Each school year, I also believe that my students, their familes and I are also a family. We will, after all, be spending the next 10 months together! So let's make them SPECIAL!
Soy la señora Ortiz. Comenzaré por contarles un poco sobre mi. Nací en la ciudad de NY de padres Dominicanos. A la edad de 6 años, tuve una maestra de 1er grado que me inspiró a ser como ella. Enseñé en NYC por 7 años y este es mi 4to año aquí en CF- ¡así que en total es mi decimoprimer año de maestra! El año pasado, dí clases tiempo medio solamente porque regresé a la escuela, al programa Principal Residency Network, para ser exacta, me gradué y ahora soy certificada en administración de escuela (así que puedo ser Directora, asistente de Directora...)
Mi mayor pasión en general es mi familia. Tengo 12 años y medio casada con mi maravilloso esposo. Tenemos una hija de 11 años que se llama Gabriela y un hijo de 6 que se llama Nicholas. Juntos disfrutamos de ver películas y jugar juegos de mesa y video juegos.
Lo que más me gusta hacer cuando tengo tiempo libre es LEER.
Mi mayor pasión en el area de la educación es la Educación Bilingue. Soy ejemplo de que ser bilingue les abrerá muchas puertas en el futuro. Por eso amo las clases de Lenguaje Dual.
Cada año escolar, también creo que mis estudiante, sus familias y yo también somos una familia. Después de todo pasaremos los próximo 10 meses juntos. ¡Vamos a hacerlos ESPECIAL!
